Team Breakaway
George Hincapie
Professional CyclistProfessional cyclist and 11-time Tour de France veteran George Hincapie has participated in Breakaway from Cancer™ since the program launched in 2005. This year, he will ride in the Breakaway from Cancer™ charity ride in Palo Alto, CA on February 10, 2008. All proceeds from the charity ride will support the services and programs offered by The Wellness Community and the National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship.
“Nearly everyone is touched by cancer in one way or another, and it is critical that those affected realize they don’t have to face this illness alone. Just as in cycling where it takes a support team to help a rider breakaway from the pack, it takes a strong support network to help a person with cancer face the many hurdles throughout treatment.”
